'It’s a massive honour' — Turkey-based striker Dan Agyei reacts to maiden Black Stars call-up

London-born Ghanaian forward Daniel Agyei has expressed immense pride and excitement following his first-ever call-up to the Black Stars for upcoming international friendlies against the Austria national football team and the Germany national football team.

The former Burnley FC striker described the opportunity as a dream come true, emphasizing that representing Ghana at the highest level is a moment he deeply cherishes.

“It’s a massive honour to be called up to the Ghana national team. As a player, you always dream of representing your country at this level, so to finally get the opportunity means everything to me. I’m ready to give my all for the shirt,” Agyei said in an interview.

Agyei’s inclusion comes on the back of impressive performances for Kocaelispor in the Turkish Süper Lig, where he has been in fine form. The 28-year-old striker recently scored three goals in two league matches and has netted four times this season for the newly promoted side.

Known for his pace, strength, and intelligent attacking movement, Agyei has become a key figure in his team’s frontline. His ability to operate across multiple attacking positions further enhances his value, offering tactical flexibility to his coaches.

His call-up adds fresh attacking options to the Black Stars as they continue preparations for upcoming international assignments.
