Khan eyes rematch with Brook

Amir Khan could opt for a chance at redemption and revenge over a fight with Kell Brook after being named as the mandatory challenger for Floyd Mayweather's old belt.

The vacant WBC title will be on the line when Danny Garcia faces Robert Guerrero in Los Angeles on January 23.

And if Garcia wins, Khan could jump at the chance to avenge his loss to the Philadelphian in 2012.

After making a good start in the fight, Khan was knocked down in the third round and knocked out in the fourth.

Since then he has swapped trainer Freddie Roach for Virgil Hunter and and won five successive fights.

Khan recently missed out being named as Manny Pacquiao's retirement opponent and was repeatedly overlooked by Mayweather before he retired last September.

That appeared to pave the way for a long-awaited clash with Brook at Wembley on June 4.

The Sheffield world champion will defend his IBF title against mandatory challenger Kevin Bizier this spring having been out of action since last May. DailyMail
