Leicester City are reportedly eyeing Crystal Palace forward Jordan Ayew as they seek to bolster their attacking options ahead of their return to the Premier League.

With Palace manager Oliver Glasner looking to revamp his squad at Selhurst Park, Ayew could be available for a reduced fee.

If Leicester were to secure his services, Ayew would join Fatawu Issahaku as the second Ghanaian player at the club, following Issahaku's permanent move from Sporting Lisbon.

The 32-year-old Ayew, capable of playing both as a striker and a winger, brings a wealth of experience with 274 Premier League appearances. During his six-year tenure at Palace, Ayew has been a consistent presence, featuring in at least 30 league matches per season over the past five years.

Last season, the Ghanaian international contributed four goals and seven assists, primarily from the right wing. However, Ayew has not surpassed five goals in a single season since the 2019-20 campaign.

Leicester City coach Steve Cooper has not dismissed the possibility of signing a new striker, although his immediate focus is on the fitness of Jamie Vardy. The veteran striker's injury might sideline him from the club’s upcoming trip to Germany.

"We need to see how Jamie is," Cooper said when questioned about the potential acquisition of a new striker. "He’s not with us at the moment. Pato’s here and Tom. We’re still working out that process.

"Hopefully Jamie can get back as soon as possible because he looked so sharp before he had that knock. We all know what he can still offer, and I’ve been enjoying working with him.

"It’s too difficult to say we definitely need this and definitely need that, because it’s about putting a jigsaw together where everybody clicks. We’ll see."
