As part of efforts to beef up their squad, Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has made some recruitments ahead of the season with the former Great Olympics attacker being the latest addition to the team.

The 22-year-old forward, whose mother is a devoted Kotoko fan, revealed in an interview that playing for the club had always been a lifelong aspiration.

"As the only footballer in my family, it has always been my desire to rise to the pinnacle of the game," Amoah said.

Amoah is acutely aware of the high standards set by his predecessors at Kotoko, including notable attackers such as Eric Bekoe, Steven Mukwala and Georges Mfegue.

"I know the standard some of the past strikers have set for the club and it is my time to continue from where they left it. I have to justify why they signed me and not come and disgrace myself," he stated.

The former Great Olympics striker expressed his determination to help Kotoko return to its former glory and emphasised his commitment to hard work and his readiness to make a significant impact.

"Joining the Porcupine family is a great honour. I am going to work hard to ensure the team returns to its glorious days," Amoah declared.

Amoah's decision to join Asante Kotoko was heavily influenced by discussions with Coach Ogum. According to him, the coach, who had been impressed by his (Amoah's) performances, saw potential in the young striker's style of play and believed it suited the team's philosophy for the upcoming season.

"The coach told me that he has seen some of my matches and the philosophy he was playing this season, he is sure I can make an impact in his team, so he wants to give me the opportunity to come and help him," Amoah explained.
