Ligbidi, Kronborg win MTN golf

Young golfer, K. Ligbidi ,and female golfer, Mary Kronborg were the surprise winners as captains of industries converged to honour this year’s MTN Invitational Golf competition at the Celebrity Golf course last Saturday.

Playing with a handicap of five, Ligbidi grossed 78 with his total net of 73 to win the hole 18 event christened category A, while Kronborg, playing on handicap 13, grossed 90 with a total net of 77 to pick the ladies category A prize.

The sixth edition of the annual competition, the first for MTN’s new CEO, Serame Taukobong, also saw Ernest Kumi coming second with a net of 74 winning on countback ahead of Kusi Boateng who was playing with handicap of six and finished with a net of 74.

Pamela Yeboah was second in the ladies hole 18 competition, while in the category B competition, Maureen Akuaku stole the show with a net score of 66, followed by Esther Antwi with a net score of 77.

Gorkeh Seyim was the king of the men’s category B contest with a net score of 67 ahead of K. Matlatesa who recorded a net of 72 and Phillippe Ayivor who followed with a net score of 72. Dr Owusu Baah and Pamela Yeboah won the closest to  the pin in the men and ladies categories respectively.

Mr Taukobong said the competition offered them the opportunity  to interact and receive feedback from their clients to enable MTN serve them better.
