‘Local Coaches crucial to Ghana football’

 

Former Metropolitan Chief Executive Officer (MCE) of Tema, Mr Robert Kempes Ofosuware, has appealed to stakeholders of Ghana football to support local coaches to unearth talents for the effective building of the various national teams.

Speaking at an annual -get- together of Accra Hearts of Oak Old Players Association (AHOOPA) at Tema last Saturday, Kempes said the competences of local coaches were crucial to the development of the game in Ghana.

The meeting also created the forum to discuss issues affecting the club and ways to complement the management in addressing the challenges of the club.

Kempes urged the supporters to rally behind the team to enable it regain its past glory.

He called for hardwork and dedication on the part of the players in order to position the team well enough to give a strong challenge to their archrivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko to clinch the Premier League title.

He also enjoined members of AHOOPA to rededicate themselves to the cause of the club and make themselves relevant by advising management and the board on critical issues.

He later donated GH¢1,000 for the upkeep of the association and its members and assured it of his efforts to ensure that the event was held annually

Mr Evans Aryee-Quaye, chairman of AHOOPA, on his part, affirmed the association’s support and readiness to give of its best to uplift the image of the club.
