•Fatau Dauda-expected to man the post for the local Stars

Local Stars set for Ivorians tomorrow

The local Black Stars, led by Coach Maxwell Konadu, will welcome their Cote d’Ivoire counterparts in a crunch African Nations Championship (CHAN) decider to be played tomorrow at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

Both teams will be playing on a home-and-away basis to decide which of the two qualifies to play in the fourth edition of the tournament which was introduced six years ago with Ghana winning silver in the first and third editions.

The Ghanaians have been in camp at Obuasi for a few weeks and hope to come out victorious tomorrow to make the return leg in Cote d’Ivoire less tasking.

Ghana have played in all CHAN competitions since its introduction but considering the pedigree of the Ivorian team and the history of matches between the two countries, the local Stars cannot disappoint but silence the visitors to brighten Ghana’s qualification chances towards her fourth consecutive CHAN in Rwanda from January 16 to February 7, 2016.

Players such as Abeiku Ainooson, Fatau Dauda, Joshua Tijani, Nuhu Fuseini, Godfred Saka and Ganiu Ismail must avoid any form of complacency and go for the kill against the Ivorians.

Ghana or Cote d’Ivoire will pick one of the three slots for Zone West B which also features clashes involving Nigeria v Burkina Faso and Niger v Togo.
