Mingle, Nortey retain titles in Accra Senior Open Champs

Wisdom Na-Adjrago was the toast of  tennis fans when he won this year’s Accra Senior Open  Professionals Championship competition earlier before seniors ended the tournament last Saturday at the Accra Lawn Tennis Club (ALTC).

In the men’s 30 singles finals, Seth Mingle beat Andrews Adu Appiah to retain his title, while Henry Nortey defeated George Mills in the men’s 50 singles finals.

In the men’s doubles,  Brian Benneh partnered Henry Nortey to beat Enock Amartey and Emmanuel Arday with the duo Maxwell Adjei and Lomo Hesse  defeating  Abeiku Bentsi and Dr Bankah in the men’s 40 doubles.

In the men’s 60 singles, Nana Yaw Ampaw run over Nana Dadson in a spectacular manner.

The winners received rackets, tennis balls and MTN products estimated at GH¢250.

In an interview with the Daily Graphic  the tournament co-ordinator, Peter Annan, said following a successful tournament  he was looking forward to a similar event in the future.
