Mutalib wins Accra Red Bull basketball

The last qualifier of the ongoing “Red Bull King of the Rock” ended last Wednesday at the Accra Polytechnic basketball courts with Abdul Mutalib beating off competition from Romeo Wilfred to emerge victorious.

With his feat, Mutalib will lead a four-member squad to represent Accra at the national finals which takes off later today at the Lebanon House in Accra.

In the third and fourth play-offs, Evans Anfom defeated David Laryea to win the second runner-up position.

All the four finalists took home undisclosed cash prizes.

The “Red Bull King of the Rock” which was played at Cantonments, Tema, Kumasi and Accra during the qualifiers, is a one-on-one basketbal competition which tests individual abilities rather than teamwork.

Four finalists each from the four qualification centres will, therefore, converge later today on the Lebanon House in Accra to see who emerges the overall winner in the Grand Finale.

Abdul Mutalib, Elvis Pobi Siaw, Raymond Maha and Abdul Rasheed are expected to vie for the topmost award after winning their various centres during the qualifiers in Cantonments, Tema, Kumasi and Accra respectively.
