Nations FC to face Dreams FC in MTN FA Cup final
Nations FC and Dreams FC have set up a compelling showdown in the 2025/26 MTN FA Cup final after navigating tense and dramatic semi-final battles at the Swedru Sports Stadium.
The Abrankese-based FC side booked their place in a maiden FA Cup final with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Aduana FC last Friday, a victory forged from an early breakthrough and steely defensive resolve.
The decisive moment arrived inside seven minutes when Emmanuel Annor struck with clinical precision, handing the Abrankese-based side an advantage they refused to relinquish.
From there, the game became a test of discipline and organisation. Marshalled by the influential Razak Simpson, Nations FC displayed tactical maturity beyond their years, absorbing sustained pressure from a determined Aduana side, while maintaining their defensive structure.
Aduana pressed with intent and purpose, but Nations FC held firm, combining composure with resilience to protect their slender advantage and seal a landmark victory — one that keeps alive their dream of lifting a first-ever FA Cup title.
The result caps an impressive cup run for Nations FC, who have seen off Ebony FC, AshantiGold SC, Swedru All Blacks, Berekum Chelsea and Aduana FC to reach the final, underlining their growing pedigree in knockout football.
Dreams win five-goal thriller
In contrast to Nations FC’s measured approach, Dreams FC’s path was chaotic, explosive and defined by attacking quality.
In a pulsating semi-final clash last Saturday, Dreams FC edged Medeama SC 3-2 in a five-goal thriller that showcased the unpredictability and intensity of cup football.
Dreams struck first in the 23rd minute when Kelvin Ahiable finished calmly to give his side the early lead, before in-form forward Suraj Seidu doubled the advantage in the 36th minute, putting them in a commanding position before the interval.
But Medeama, true to their reputation, refused to fold. Prince Owusu pulled one back before half-time to reignite the contest and just four minutes after the restart, Richard Appiah struck to level the scores at 2-2, setting up a gripping finale.
With momentum swinging and the tie delicately poised, it was veteran striker, John Antwi, who delivered the decisive blow.
Rising to the occasion, he netted the winner to restore Dreams FC’s lead and secure their passage to yet another FA Cup final.
