Newcastle and Tottenham eye Ghanaian defender Kasim Nuhu
Newcastle and Tottenham are reportedly casting a keen eye over Young Boys defender Kasim Nuhu.
According to a report from Swiss news outlet Blick, the Magpies had representatives watching Young Boys’ Champions League qualifying match against CSKA Moscow recently, and are now considering a move.
Newcastle are lacking defensive depth and are in serious need of new signings, with them getting off to the worst possible start in the Premier League. They have lost their opening two games against Tottenham, who also appear to be keen on Nuhu, and most recently to Huddersfield.
The 22-year-old is highly regarded out in Switzerland and has certainly made an impression with Young Boys. It’s believed that a fee worth around £8m would persuade the club to offload their promising defender.
However, if Tottenham do choose to pursue their interest in Nuhu, the Magpies will feel they have the upper hand, with assurances of first-team football likely.
