Referee Lamptey for U-20 World Cup

Ghanaian referee Joseph Odartey Lamptey has been nominated as one of the match officials for the forthcoming FIFA U-20 World Cup, which will be held in New Zealand in May this year.

Referee Lamptey, who was at the recently held Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Equatorial Guinea, will join a number of referees from around the world  at the tournament from  May 30 to June 20, 2015.

Ghana’s U-20 side, Black Satellites, have qualified to the competition and placed in Group B alongside Argentina, Austria and Panama.

The Satellites recently won bronze at the African Youth Championship in Senegal after beating Mali 3-1 in the third place match.
