Return of Essien, Dede, KPB big boost — Mahatma
Norway-based former Hearts of Oak striker, Mahatma Otoo, is delighted at the return of Michael Essien, Dede Ayew and Kevin-Prince Boateng which, he reckons, has enriched the team for today’s battle against Zambia.
The three players arrived early this week, for the first time after months, to join the Stars ahead of the encounter.
Otoo, in an interview with the Graphic Sports after their morning training session in Accra said he was delighted to be in the company of these great players whom he had admired from a distance.
‘I am happy to be playing in the same team with these big players who I have been watching on TV and training with them this morning gives me a great feeling’, the Sogndal striker stated.
For him, the great camaraderie currently existing in camp demonstrates the Stars readiness to beat the Chipolopolo to qualify for the next stage of the competition.
The 21-year-old said if given the opportunity today he would give his best to ensure the Zambians did not deny Ghana’s quest for a hat-trick appearance at the global soccer showpiece.
Otoo, who completed last season as the highest goal scorer in the Glo Premier League, was happy to be part of the team and indicated that the younger ones were learning a lot from the senior players.
