Super sub Boateng wins day for Olympics
A brace by substitute Kwame Boateng in the 14th and 64th minutes gave Accra Great Olympics a 2-1 victory over visiting Medeama SC at the Accra Stadium yesterday but did not ease Olympics’ relegation worries.
It was a day of glory for super-substitute Boateng, who moments after replacing injured Daniel Appiah in the 14th minute, pounced on a volley from skipper Godwin Attram in the visiting side’s penalty box and fired the ball into the net for the opener.

Medeama fought back gallantly, pinning Olympics into their half as they fired at goal from all angles but found the defence of the homesters impregnable.
In one of their attacks in the 54th minute, Olympics defender, Isaac Nyarko, in an attempt to clear the ball out of danger, handled it and was penalised by referee Eku Boateng for a spot kick after initially whistling for an indirect free kick.
Nathaniel Asamoah planted the ball at the far corner of the net for the equaliser and his 15th goal of the season.
As if to make amends for his earlier decision, referee Boateng pointed to the spot again in the 64th minute, but this time in favour of the home team for what appeared a simulation by an Olympics attacker who had lost control of the ball.
The players of Medeama protested vehemently against the decision, holding up play for a few minutes, but when sanity prevailed Boateng scored to secure victory for his side.
