The Stars kick-start their campaign on Friday in Tamale against Uganda, but with a few days to go, the supporters groups are worried that the enthusiasm amojng Ghanaians is low and attributed it to the seemingly frosty relationship between the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MOYS) and the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

The groups are thus calling for a truce between the two parties, asking the ministry and GFA to work together to provide the necessary support the Stars need to succeed.

"Whatever it is that has happened in the past, we need to move on and forge ahead. Another World Cup qualifiers are here and we need all hands on deck to get the Black Stars to qualify. We all know a divided house can not stand. We need to be united for victory," Abraham Nkansah, the leader of the Die Hard Supporters Union, told the Graphic Sports.

Aziz Futah, well known in Hearts of Oak and also of the National Supporters Union (NSU), said the Stars risked missing out of Russia 2018 if the umpasse went unresolved and called on the two parties to rise above their differences to do they needed to do to help the Stars qualify.

" If things remain the way they are now between the FA and the ministry, it could derail the qualification chances and I think the two people must rise above their differences to play the roles expected of them to help the Stars qualify.

"I think they are all in their respective positions for the sake of Ghana football and there is nothing to gain from the current frosty relationship we are reading and hearing about everyday. Posterity will judge them if the Stars don't qualify for Russia 2018," Aziz, an outspoken supporter said.

While calling for a truce, the supporters groups, particularly Die Hard and NSU, have also appealed to corporate Ghana to come to their aid to enable them travel around with the Stars in their qualifying campaign.

"We are prepared to support the Stars throughout their campaign all around, unfortunately we may not be able to meet the financial demands and would want to appeal to good meaning Ghanaians and corporate Ghana to lend a helping hand, so we can also support the Stars to victory," Nkansah, popularly known as Apurugucharkaparma, appealed.
