Taekwondo justifier Saturday

The Ghana Taekwondo Association will on Saturday organise a justify-your-inclusion tournament at the Accra Stadium to select a standing junior national team for both sexes.

The tournament starts at 9 a.m. and is open to the public.

The initiative is to prepare a team for the Youth Olympic Games qualification tournament and World Taekwondo Junior Championships in Chinese Taipei in March.

Upon qualification, the team will proceed to participate in the African Junior Championships in Botswana in June, as well as the 2014 Youth Olympics Games in China in August.

The age limit for the junior team is 14-17 years, and instructors and coaches are to note that weigh-in starts at exactly 7 a.m. They are also to submit the names, ages and weights of their players to the Secretary-General by March 24.

On that same day, the association will also unveil its new name, new logo and website at a short ceremony that will also see the swearing in of committees and the introduction of the new Korean Taekwondo coach who will be taking charge of the junior team.
