During the programme, participants will be taken through topics such as the Kyorugi competition rules, referee hand signals, taekwondo match management, scoring simulation and the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) referee administration.

The four-day programme is being organised by the Ghana Taekwondo Federation (GTF), with support from Blaynet Services Limited, a clearing and transport company based in Tema.

The president of the GTF, Frederick Lartey Otu, told the Daily Graphic that those who would be selected for the course must pass a prescribed test before being licensed.

That, he said, was very important because only licensed referees can officiate in GTF-approved competitions.

To qualify as a participant, Mr Lartey Otu said a member must be a holder of, at least, Dan Black belt, be a registered member of the GTF and must also be recommended by the regional association chairman.
