VIDEO: Bukom Banku denies assaulting woman
Retired Ghanaian boxer Braimah Kamoko, better known as Bukom Banku, has denied accusations of physically assaulting a woman after a video of the alleged incident went viral on social media.
The video, which surfaced on November 23, 2024, appeared to show Bukom Banku striking a woman. The video quickly sparked outrage online, with many condemning the incident as an act of violence. However, Bukom Banku has dismissed the claims, asserting that the video was part of an effort to tarnish his reputation.

According to Banku, the woman in question is his former girlfriend, who he says has been insulting him and members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) out of jealousy.

He claims the altercation occurred when he approached her at her workplace to inquire about her ongoing insults. Banku alleges that the woman threw pepper in his face, prompting him to grab her dress in response. However, he maintains that he did not physically assault her, and instead, it was the woman, along with her siblings and husband, who physically attacked him.
The incident has sparked debate, with Bukom Banku asserting that the altercation was a result of personal issues rather than an act of violence on his part. He also mentioned that similar false accusations had been leveled against him in the past, including claims of child abuse and theft, which he strongly denies.
Despite the backlash, Bukom Banku remains firm in his stance, claiming that his actions have been misinterpreted and that he never struck the woman.
