Watch: Why former Sunderland star Asamoah Gyan is pushing for shorter church services

Ghanaian football legend Asamoah Gyan has urged church leaders to keep services brief, arguing that shorter durations would encourage more people to attend.

In a recent Instagram Live session, the former Sunderland striker suggested that religious gatherings should ideally last no longer than one hour and thirty minutes, ensuring both quality and engagement.

Gyan stated that Church services should be short with quality, not long, to encourage people to attend. If it can be done within one hour and thirty minutes, it will be fine.

The all-time Black Stars top scorer explained that extended services often discourage attendance, as people may struggle to stay engaged.

When it's too long, it becomes boring. So, I'm pleading with all pastors to consider this concern. Even as I seem to be speaking for a long time, it's becoming boring, he added humorously.

Asamoah Gyan, Ghana’s record goal scorer with 51 goals in 109 appearances, continues to make his voice heard both on and off the pitch. His comments have since sparked discussions among fans and churchgoers about the ideal length of religious services.
