Will it be Oly or Kotoko?

Accra Great Olympics striker, Abel Manomey, says his side will deepen the woes of visiting Kumasi Asante Kotoko when the two clash at the Accra Stadium this afternoon.

Monomey told the media after the team’s training that they were confident that Olympics would beat Kotoko fair and square to set themselves on the path of recovery from their poor run of form.

Olympics currently lie 14th, two points adrift of bottom club Ashgold and a loss at home could mark the beginning of the end; and a possible return to the second tier.

After recovering from their recent technical crisis, the Wonder Club has seen little success and forwards Osah Bernadinho and Benjamin Arthur would hope to ask some questions with their scoring boots today.

Coach Tom Strand and his assistant, Godwin Attram, must unite to find a panacea to Olympic’s prolonged malaise while tinkering with the best strategy for the club to succeed.

But Olympics face a high mountain in Kotoko who also need a win badly to halt their winless spell in four matches.

The camp of the Porcupine Warriors is not a delightful one. Having suffered a humiliating 1-3 defeat at the hands of arch-rivals Accra Hearts of Oak only last Monday at the same venue, Kotoko fans are up in arms against Coach Frimping Manso, the management and some players.

Another loss against an Accra-based club within a week could lead to heads rolling to deepen the crises in the club.

Coach Frimpong Manso remains calm but knows the cardinal rule in Kotoko that when you are at the helm of affairs it is positive results and nothing else.

Another cracker awaits Accra fans on Monday when fourth-placed Hearts of Oak welcome league leaders, WAFA, in a fierce encounter.

While Hearts are still celebrating their sweet Ghana@60 victory over Kotoko, Coach Frank Nuttall who is back on duty needs no time to psyche his squad to face WAFA, whom they have struggled to beat in recent times.

Tomorrow, Inter Allies will play host to Bolga All Stars at the El-Wak Stadium in Accra, while relegation-threatened AshantiGold play as guests of Ebusua Dwarfs at Cape Coast.

At Tarkwa, Medeama will meet Elmina Sharks, with Liberty Professionals taking on Tema Youth at Dansoman.

Wa All Stars will be home to Bechem United at Wa, and at Dormaa-Ahenkro, Aduana Stars clash with Berekum Chelsea in an interesting regional derby.
