at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence at Prampram to formally bid them farewell ahead of their departure for Gabon to participate in the Africa U-17 Championship.

Mr Hadzide wished the team well and pledged the support of the government and Ghanaians in general to ensure the team succeeds in Gabon.

Later, Mr Mensah expressed his profound gratitude to the playing body and the technical team for maintaining discipline and keeping their heads above water in the face of the numerous challenges and tasked them to be good ambassadors of the nation as they represent Ghana in Gabon.

''Looking at the morale in camp, I have no doubt that you will do mother Ghana proud in Gabon,'' he stated.

The two officials later led the Starlets contingent from Prampram to the Kotoka International Airport to book a flight to Gabon.

The Africa U-17 Championship will run from May 14-28, 2017.

The Starlets will open their account on the opening day with a gruelling fixture against Cameroon as they hope to pick one of the four slots for the FIFA U-17 World Cup in India later in the year.
