ASA Savings and Loans supports Kasoa Polyclinic

In its quest to support healthcare delivery in the Kasoa community, ASA Savings and Loans has donated essential medical equipment to the Kasoa Polyclinic as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities.

The items were a patient monitor, weight scale, pulse oximeter, ward screen, gynae gloves and blood pressure monitor.

The gesture aimed to strengthen the clinic’s capacity to provide quality care to patients, especially amid growing demand for healthcare services in the area.

Presenting the equipment at a short ceremony at the Polyclinic’s premises in Kasoa, the sustainability manager of ASA Savings and Loans Ltd, Richard Nartey, emphasised the company’s commitment to the general health and well-being of all, particularly women and children, who are the most vulnerable in society.

“We are committing funds to provide basic tools and equipment public health workers need to improve and promote quality healthcare, both in urban and rural areas,” he added.

The Area Manager for ASA Savings and Loans, Kasoa Area, Beatrice Ashiokai Baiden, highlighted the challenges faced by the clinic, sharing a personal story of a staff member who recently visited the clinic with her daughter but could not find an available bed.

“Some patients have to sit on tables. Nurses told us they often move between departments, like maternity and emergency, just to get equipment like weighing scales. That’s what moved us to act,” she said.

The donation, she said, formed part of the commitment by ASA Savings and Loans to uplift the communities it served.

“We’re not just doing this for the hospital. Most of our clients and even our own staff use this facility. So, it’s an investment in the well-being of everyone connected to us,” Mrs Baiden stated.

She further reiterated the company’s commitment to social impact through meaningful CSR efforts.

She disclosed that the company plans to assess the usage and effectiveness of the donated equipment and explore additional support in the future.

Appreciation

A Senior Medical Officer at the Kasoa Polyclinic, Dr Papa Kojo Arthur, welcomed the donation and expressed appreciation for the continued support and collaboration.

He emphasised the community’s vulnerability to infectious diseases, noting that the items donated were needed urgently for patients’ medical care.

“The things donated are things we actually need. When we mentioned the items, you could see the excitement. The various departments were fighting over some of the items because they are things we actually need for patients’ care,” he stated.

With only a polyclinic and hospital serving the large population, Dr Arthur called on other organisations to support their efforts.
