ASA Savings and Loans to enhance customer service with digital innovation
The ASA Savings and Loans Limited is transforming its service delivery with plans to launch a mobile application to upgrade its core banking system. This is expected to serve its growing customer base across the country better.
The market leader, which has maintained the top position in the savings and loans sector for over a decade, announced the digital initiatives during Customer Service Week celebrations aimed at improving customer experience and accessibility last Tuesday in Accra.
“Institutions that don’t innovate risk becoming obsolete. We are on the verge of launching our loan app and updating our core banking application that has served us for 15 years.
This will position us to serve our customers in a more digitally savvy way,” the Chief Financial Officer for ASA Savings and Loans, Stephen Kwawukume, told the Daily Graphic.
He explained that customers were not yet familiar with digital platforms; however, ASA would provide education and hands-on guidance throughout the transition period to ensure no customer is left behind in the digital transformation.
Breast screening
As part of Customer Service Week activities, ASA organised free breast cancer screening for about 3,000 clients across all branches nationwide, demonstrating its holistic approach to customer care.
Clients from neighbouring communities took advantage of free breast examinations, blood pressure checks and general health assessments.
“We are here to serve our customers, transform their businesses, and support their well-being. This success would not have been possible without them,” Mr Kwawukume stated.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ASA Savings and Loans, Md. Aourongjeb explained that with operations spanning all regions of Ghana, his outfit remains focused on accessibility, particularly for women entrepreneurs who form a significant portion of its customers.
“This success would not have been possible without our customers. We are here to serve them, transform their businesses and support their well-being,” he stated.
He affirmed the company’s commitment to supporting health and financial empowerment.
“Breast cancer is one of the deadliest diseases, not only in Ghana, West Africa, or Africa, but across the world.
I want to request all my colleague CEOs to pay special attention to this area and do awareness-building programmes across the country,” he appealed.
Advise
Educating participants on breast cancer, a medical doctor from the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Edwin Essel, emphasised the risk factors and the importance of early detection.
He further advised women to practice regular self-examination and schedule routine check-ups, adding that early diagnosis remained the most effective means of combating breast cancer.
Beneficiaries of the exercise expressed appreciation to the ASA Savings and Loans for its continued efforts in improving women's health and financial inclusion.
