CDH launches 25th anniversary
Group CEO, CDH Financial Holdings Limited, Emmanuel Adu-Sarkodee, revealed that his outfit decided to mark the anniversary with praise and worship taking into account how far God has brought the company, having suffered shipwreck in 2004.
He pointed out that CDH has purposed to go continental, and starting next year, it would extend its tentacles to countries like Zimbabwe, Zambia, Liberia and Sierra Leone.
Responding to what has accounted for the company’s success in recent years, he noted, “I will say it all boils down to having people with the right work ethos, and having the hand of God in your affairs. I for instance didn’t take salary for 18 months at a point.”
He mentioned that as part of CDH corporate social responsibility, it has embarked on massive water projects in places like Mamfe, Kordiabe, Abiriw etc as well as the construction of a multi purpose dormitory that accommodates 40 children for its adopted orphanage, Village of Hope Orphanage, Gomoa Fetteh.
In his keynote address read on his behalf by Bishop Hansel Agyei Frimpong, the presiding bishop of the Word Miracle Church International (WMCI), Bishop Charles Agyin Asare, encouraged the company to continue looking up to God as it strived to make impact in the country and beyond.
CDH, which was established in September 1987, started as a Discount House in Ghana with the mandate to help maintain liquidity and stability within the financial sector. The group later diversified into other sectors including Stock brokerage, Insurance Asset Management and Commodities Trading.
It currently has total asset in excess of ¢200m. The group presently boasts of a number of specialised subsidiaries including an insurance business and later moved to other ventures.
It boasts of subsidiaries like CDH Asset Management Ltd., a licensed fund manager, Ivory Finance Company Ltd., which provides a wide range of financial services including lending, guarantees, export financing, financial leasing, collateral management etc.
Phoenix Insurance Company Limited, Phoenix Life Assurance Company, CDH Securities and CDH Commodities Limited are all members of the CDH Group.
The anniversary is on the theme: “Celebrating 25 Years of God’s Goodness”.
