The Electricity Company of Ghana has announced separate power outages affecting communities in the Accra West and Tema Regions on Saturday, May 2, following a transformer fault and a burnt pole, respectively.
According to advisory issued by the power distributor, engineers are currently working to rectify both faults and restore supply. The company expressed regret about the inconvenience caused to affected customers.
In the Accra West Region, a fault on the transformer serving the community has resulted in a power outage affecting Akramaman Asantewaa, Pokuase Amanfrom SDA, James Town Grand View Clinic, Nsakina, and surrounding areas.
ECG assured affected customers that engineers are working to rectify the fault and restore supply, though no timeline was provided.
In the Tema Region, a burnt pole at Brotherhood, Tema New Town, has caused a power outage affecting Brotherhood and surrounding areas.
ECG similarly assured customers that engineers are working to restore supply and apologised for the inconvenience.
In its public notices, the ECG extended its apologies to all affected customers, acknowledging the disruption caused by these technical faults. The company reassured the public that efforts are underway to restore power as quickly as possible.
