Cummins prepares to serve West Africa

Cummins, a global power solutions provider, is positioning its operations in Ghana to better serve the needs and demands of the entire West African market.

The company, which deals in the design, manufacture, distribution and servicing of diesel engines, power generation sets, and the production of fuel systems, said it would do this by delivering quality product and services.

Acting Managing Director for Cummins Ghana, Ms Bernice Agudu, told the Daily Graphic that the company, which had been in the business of building and supporting engines for over 90 years, would continue to serve its customers through superior service and top-class product offerings.

“Cummins in the West African sub-region has become synonymous with engines, power generation, filtration fuel systems, turbo technologies and efficient emissions solutions. Cummins filtration and emission products, for instance, are top-of-the-class products that can be found in most light and heavy-duty vehicles on the road,” she said.

Superior service support

Superior service support, she said, was one of the hallmarks of Cummins Ghana and the company would therefore continue to offer legendary after-sales service to its clients by recruiting the right people and imbibing the customer service excellence culture in them, thereby unleashing continent talent through world class talent acquisition and development.

The Vice President and Managing Director of Cummins Africa, Mr Gino Butera, said “we are committed to Africa in the long-term, and we are committed to ensuring the success of our customers and our employees.”

He added, “this view is born out of continued investments in the distribution network and in building capability to deliver on current and future customer needs. Dependability is more than just our brand promise, it is in our DNA.”

Cummins Ghana Limited is responsible for delivering support in selected West African countries from Benin in the East through to Liberia in the West.

The company has been active in Ghana for many years through dealer and franchise agreements, and as a wholly-owned Cummins entity since 2009.

The Cummins brand has always been led by the vision to make people’s lives better.

Mr Butera said one of the ways the company achieved that was delivering dependable products and services sustainably.
