Demeter Ghana Limited has hosted a Farmer Field Day at DGL Fresh Farm in Kasoa, bringing together more than 50 fruit and vegetable farmers, distributors and agronomy experts to highlight new technologies and improved seed varieties aimed at boosting agricultural productivity.

Held under the theme “Growing Together,” the event was organised in partnership with Hazera Seeds, one of Demeter’s international seed collaborators. Participants were taken through a guided tour of the company’s nursery and demonstration plots, which featured a range of maize and vegetable crops cultivated with improved inputs.

Attendees also had the opportunity to explore product displays showcasing Hazera hybrid seed varieties, Omya soil conditioners and Demeter’s latest fertilizer formulations. According to Demeter Ghana, the initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to equip farmers with practical knowledge and high-quality inputs to enhance yields.

Demeter Ghana’s Chief Operating Officer, Mr Bartie Stagg, praised the strong participation and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to farmer empowerment. “Our Farmer Field Day is a testament to Demeter’s commitment to growing farming success in Ghana,” he said. “By connecting farmers directly with our technical experts and partners like Hazera, we help build the knowledge and confidence needed to improve productivity and sustainability.”

Delivering remarks at the event, Mr Haggai Breslauer, Sales Manager for Africa at Hazera Seeds, said the company remained committed to supporting African farmers through improved seed genetics and ongoing agronomic training. He emphasised Hazera’s partnership with Demeter Ghana in supplying high-quality seed varieties suited to local growing conditions.

The event ended with a networking session that exposed farmers and distributors to modern farming technologies and strengthened partnerships within the sector. Organisers described the Field Day as a significant contribution to the country’s agricultural transformation agenda, positioning Demeter Ghana as a key player in advancing sustainable farming practices.
