#TGMA27: Wendy Shay says winning Artiste of the Year will be a testament of not giving up(VIDEO)
Singer Wendy Shay has described a possible Artiste of the Year win as a powerful symbol of resilience, consistency and self-belief.
The RuffTown Records artiste said winning the coveted category would not only validate her hard work over the years but also inspire many people, particularly women, to remain focused on their dreams despite challenges.
According to Wendy Shay, an Artiste of the Year victory would stand as proof that determination and persistence eventually pay off.
“Winning Artiste of the Year will be a testament of not giving up. It will be a testament of consistency, hard work and self-belief,” she said.
She added that such an achievement would go beyond personal success and serve as motivation for women striving to break barriers in their various fields.
“It will be an inspiration to a lot of people, not just because I’m a woman, but it is also going to empower women and show everyone that if you believe in yourself and put your mind to it, you can do it,” she stated.
The Shay On You hitmaker further noted that her works and achievements over the years justify her place among the contenders for the topmost prize.
“Because the numbers are there and the hard work is there. Everything is there, so it will be a very great honour and epitome of inspiration, hard work and belief,” she added.
Over the years, Wendy Shay has remained one of the consistent female acts on the Ghanaian music scene, releasing a number of hit songs and maintaining strong visibility within the industry despite public criticism and intense competition.
Wendy Shay’s win of Artiste of the Year will be the third time a female artiste is winning following Ebony;s posthumous honour in 2018 and gospel artiste, Diana Hamilton’s win in 2021.
