5 African presidents to grace 2019 GUBA USA Awards in New York
Five African Presidents are expected to grace the 2019 GUBA USA Awards in New York on September 26, 2019.
This will happen around the same time as heads of state, dignitaries, government officials and influencers around the world will be in New York for the 2019 United Nations General Assembly meeting.
The GUBA Awards USA, a subsidiary of the GUBA Enterprise is an awards programme that seeks to reward, celebrate excellence and innovation of African individuals and organisations in the diaspora and Africa, working towards the advancement, empowerment and progression of the African community in the diaspora.

In a press release, GUBA said the five African presidents who will attend the awards ceremony in New York are President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of Ghana, the President of Madagascar, Andry Rajoelina, President of Guinea, Alpha Condé and Burkina Faso’s President Jean-Claud Kassi-Brau.
The president of the ECOWAS Commission Jean-Claude Kassi Brou will also be in attendance.
The press release stated that as a collective, the African leaders have actively shown efforts in embracing growth for the continent as well as encouraging all to take part with their contributions to Africa and the diaspora through their respective lines of work.
The evening, it said will give guests and other honoured guests including Karen Boyin-Towns, Vice-Chair of NAACP Board of directors and Hollywood actor Danny Glover the opportunity to engage, intermix and socialise with the heads of state while celebrating the amazing accomplishments to come out of Africa.
It said the African diaspora in the Americas continues to influence arts and culture, business, sport, technology, and entertainment and added that GUBA recognises and celebrates the efforts of game-changers, as a way to encourage the promotion of growth and innovation in Africa, to the rest of the world
It said there will also be a presentation for Black Star awardees; Patrick Awuah for his exemplary work in education, Rosa Whitaker for her excellence in Africa advancement, Richileu Dennis for editorial achievements and many more.
