The Ghana’s Most Influential Awards is aimed at recognising and celebrating the top 100 Most Influential Ghanaian personalities as voted by the general public.

They consist of individuals whose works have positively impacted society and their community. After public nominations were opened, the lists was compiled and the review process started.

Public nominations were scored 40 per cent and the GMI Committee, consisting of editors, producers, and representatives of audit firm PKF & Associates scored 60 per cent of the total. Nominees were rated on five key metrics and the results were collated and analysed with the assistance of PKF & Associates.

The Chief Executive of the BEIGE Capital, Mr Nyinaku, told the paper after the event that the recognition at this year’s Ghana’s most influential personalities would bring much responsibility to himself as an entrepreneur.

“Although it feels good to be recognised it also brings much responsibilities to myself as an entrepreneur, because in as much as people are watching your ideas and innovation it is equally important for you to watch your steps,” he said.

Going forward, he indicated that BEIGE Capital would continue to serve its customers through innovative product and services to meet the needs of the client.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Global Media Alliance Broadcasting, Mr Akwasi Agyeman, for his part said these awards brought recognition to people who did not necessarily set out to compete in an award scheme but who were recognised for their influential role in the society.

“As individuals, almost everyone has an influencer in their life. They could be a parent, a friend, a teacher, celebrity or a sports hero. What these awards seek to do is to get the society to appreciate the role these influencers play in shaping the collective destiny as Ghanaians,” he said.

He added that “our society is in dire need of more positive icons, those who refuse to be passive victims of circumstance but dig deep within themselves to gain strength to help the society”.
