
GNCCI unveils Green Growth Project
A project meant to empower women and youth in the green and circular economy sectors in the northern parts of the country has been launched.
Dubbed; Green Growth Ghana Project, the initiative seeks to create opportunities for women and youth by fostering entrepreneurship in agro-forestry and circular economy sectors.
It will provide training, funding, and mentorship to small-scale green enterprises in Ghana's Upper West, Upper East, and Northern Regions as part of effort to address critical issues related to environmental sustainability, poverty reduction, and gender equality.
It is an initiative of Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI) in collaboration with Presbyterian University Ghana and financially supported by the European Union Delegation in Ghana.

The project aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically targeting gender equality, affordable and clean energy, decent work and economic growth and climate action.
Empowering women
A press release by the issued by the GNCCI stated that the chamber as the leading business association in Ghana, is committed to empowering women and youth through entrepreneurship and innovation in the green economy.
“The EU is a key funding partner for this initiative, supporting the government’s vision for sustainable development, poverty reduction and economic growth. It has a long-standing partnership with Ghana, particularly in areas related to climate resilience, sustainable development, and poverty reduction.
“The Presbyterian University of Ghana (PUG) brings its expertise in environmental sustainability and social responsibility to support the initiative's goals. By working together, these partners aim to create a sustainable and prosperous future for Ghana's next generation,” it added.
