Plant Pool launches new tipper truck

J. A. Plant Pool has launched a smaller version of its Sinotruk T7H onto the market to help address the challenges with axel load and other issues that the big bucket truck pose to consumers.

Unlike the older version, the new truck, the Sinotruk A7 U-shaped bucket tipper truck, is lighter in weight, smaller in size and more fuel efficient.

The size of the bucket and weight of the vehicle have also been reduced, making it possible for customers to carry more load and still be able to meet the new regulations on axel load.

The Managing Director of J. A. Plant Pool, Reverend Lolu Akindele, said at the launch in Accra that the introduction of the new truck followed a market research which found that customers had issues meeting the axel load requirements with the T7H truck.

Given that the T7H was made with comparatively heavier and bigger materials, the MD said the research found that customers were not happy with the challenges they had meeting the new axel load requirements which were lower compared to the older ones.

“It is a robust trunk and the new design is such that it allows you to carry more load. A lot of the vehicles in the country carry excess load, thereby destroying our roads.”

“The 7U-shaped bucket tipper truck has been designed such that the customer will be saving about 1.8 tonnes of load from the trunk itself. This means that you can carry a lot more load and still be within the limit,” he said.

The new regulations on axle load, which took effect last year, reduced the load limit a 16-axle truck should carry from 68 tonnes to 60 tonnes.

It was to help reduce the pressure heavy load had on the roads and its impact on national expenditure on capital projects.

With the new trunk, the Association of Tipper Truck Drivers said the challenges with law enforcers would be minimal and make it possible for businesses to grow.

The Plant Pool MD also assured customers of the company’s commitment to good customer service to help grow their business.

Reverend Akindele said the company had stocked its warehouses with enough spare parts to take care of customer needs.

“We just do not want to sell buses or trucks. We want to be a company that can take care of all your needs, from sales to service such that you can concentrate on the business,” he said.
