Silvia Rajniak breaks glass ceiling as Kempinski Accra's first female General Manager

The Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City Accra has appointed Silvia Rajniak as its new General Manager, making her the first woman to lead Ghana's flagship five-star luxury hotel.

The historic appointment, announced on September 29, 2025, marks a significant homecoming for Ms. Rajniak, who brings more than 16 years of distinguished hospitality experience to the role.

Her journey with the Kempinski group began in 2009 as a Personal Assistant to the General Manager, leading to a remarkable rise through senior roles across Europe and Africa.

Ms. Rajniak is no stranger to the Accra property, having previously served as its Hotel Manager before her most recent position as General Manager at Kempinski Hotel Soma Bay in Egypt.

Her deep operational expertise and transformational leadership are expected to further cement the hotel's status as an ultra-luxury hospitality icon.

On her return to Accra, Silvia Rajniak expressed her connection to the country, stating in a statement, "Ghana has always felt like home." She added, "I am honoured to take on the role of General Manager. Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City Accra is very close to my heart, and with the support of our wonderful team, I am confident we will take this property to new heights."

The 269-room hotel, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, has recently launched new initiatives including the opening of the ASANA Bar & Kitchen and a series of corporate social responsibility programmes under its '10 Acts of Kindness' initiative.
