Sotei Energy CEO David Azupio wins top honour at Corporate Ghana Awards
Mr David Azupio, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Sotei Energy Limited, has been named Outstanding Personality of the Year at the 11th Corporate Ghana Hall of Fame Awards, in recognition of his leadership in the country’s downstream petroleum sector.
The award, presented at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel, automatically inducts Mr Azupio into the Corporate Ghana Hall of Fame, a network of leading executives and business figures aimed at promoting collaboration across industries.
Organisers cited his role in building Sotei Energy into a growing player within Ghana’s energy landscape since its establishment in 2017, with operations spanning fuel supply, bunkering services and consultancy.
Speaking after receiving the award, Mr Azupio credited the achievement to the efforts of his team and reaffirmed the company’s long-term vision.
“This award is a testament to the resilience and dedication of our team. At Sotei Energy, we remain committed to improving lives through sustainability, professionalism, innovation, teamwork, client-focus, and excellence. Our goal is not just to provide oil and gas, but to transform energy sector delivery in Ghana,” he stated.
Sotei Energy supplies petroleum products to a range of sectors, including mining, road construction and bulk industrial users, positioning itself as a key service provider to both public and private sector clients.
The company operates alongside its sister firm, Translogies Ghana Ltd., which provides haulage and logistics services to support the transportation of goods across Ghana and beyond.
Industry observers say the recognition reflects broader growth within Ghana’s downstream oil and gas sector, where indigenous companies are increasingly expanding their footprint and competing alongside established players.
The award also highlights the role of private sector leadership in supporting national infrastructure and economic activity, particularly through reliable energy supply and logistics services.
