Stanbic Bank tools to support oil & gas and customer care

With Ghana on the verge of celebrating a decade of joining the comity of oil producing nations, various support services, including the banking sector, have developed products aimed at supporting the industry.

Speaking to the media after relocating to its new plush building in Takoradi, Mr R. Kwabena Asare, the Western Regional Manager of Stanbic Bank, said in the past few years the region had evolved with bustling business opportunities.

Stanbic Bank, he said, had positioned itself to ensure that such opportunities were converted into profitable ventures that would accrue to the benefit of all.

Mr Asare said the industry had several players providing one service or the other to ensure smooth operations along the value chain, adding:  “ We at Stanbic have set up a whole department with a team of experts to take care of the needs of players in the industry.”

“As business evolves we have strategised to meet the changing needs of our customers to ensure that we keep the wheel of industry and commerce moving,” he said.

“That can largely be achieved through understanding, building confidence and ensuring that turnaround time in the banking hall was short,” he added.

 Mr. Asare said one of the other factors that informed their relocation to the present building was the need to provide enhanced services to customers and to decongest the banking hall.

“We all know that time is very important to any business entity, therefore, to ensure that our customers do not spend all their time at the banking hall, we have improved our services by installing automated teller machines that can receive deposits,” he said.

The Regional Manager revealed that the bank’s ATMs were well-patronised  by its customers and non-customers alike.

This, coupled with a general expansion in services merited the relocation.

Mr Asare said: “The new venue has a spacious  and secure car park and it is expected that traffic congestion would be reduced to a minimum to allow  customers to enjoy the full benefits of our new location.

 “We have created the perfect ambiance for our customers to have the fullness of our services in the area of personal, private, corporate and business banking.”

He said Stanbic Bank’s services including, all types of loans, mortgages, money transfers among other, have been enhanced to meet all customers’ needs even better than before.
