Trade Minister urges Ghanaian delegation to champion excellence at Burkina Faso Investment Forum

The Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, has urged the Ghanaian delegation attending the maiden International Forum “Invest in Burkina Faso” (FIIBF) to represent the country with distinction and use the platform to promote Ghana’s trade and investment potential.

Addressing the team at a pre-departure meeting in Accra on Monday, October 6, 2025, Mrs Ofosu-Adjare reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to deepening regional cooperation and strengthening business ties across West Africa.

She encouraged members of the delegation, led by the Deputy Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Sampson Ahi, to actively engage with their counterparts, showcase Ghanaian products, and pursue partnerships that would deliver long-term benefits for both Ghana and Burkina Faso.

“Our business community is eager to participate in this forum, not only to exhibit our products but also to deepen engagement beyond this event,” she stated. She urged the team to project Ghana’s innovation, enterprise and resilience throughout the two-day event.

The Ambassador of Burkina Faso to Ghana commended the country’s commitment to the forum and described the presence of Mr Ahi and his delegation as a great honour. He said Ghana’s participation demonstrated its continued dedication to regional integration and the shared vision for sustainable development across the sub-region.

The inaugural FIIBF will take place in Ouagadougou from October 9 to 10, 2025. Organised by Burkina Faso’s Ministry of Industry, Trade and Craft, the forum will bring together policymakers, investors and private sector leaders to explore new opportunities for trade and economic collaboration within West Africa.

As part of the event, a high-level meeting between the Head of State and investors will be held to highlight Burkina Faso’s development priorities and investment prospects.

Ghana’s participation in the forum underscores the government’s broader strategy to build partnerships that attract investment, create jobs and expand market opportunities for Ghanaian enterprises across the sub-region and beyond.

The FIIBF is expected to serve as a platform for networking, sharing expertise and showcasing investment incentives and reforms aimed at enhancing cooperation among regional and international stakeholders.
