uniCredit to offer free advisory service
The newly appointed Chief Executive Officer of uniCredit Ghana Limited, a savings and loans company, Mr Samuel Sakyi-Hyde, has promised an enhanced free business advisory service to Ghanaians as part of efforts of the company to help individuals and companies deal with the prevailing economic challenges.
He said the success of Ghanaian businesses was inter-linked with the success of uniCredit in particular and the financial services sector in general, adding that it will ensure that the capacity of customers were built for future growth.
Towards that end, he said the company had put systems in place to ensure that Ghanaian businesses and individuals that dealt with uniCredit were assisted professionally to make meaningful gains from their investments.
Value addition
Speaking in an interview with the Daily Graphic on his assumption of work as the new CEO, Mr Sakyi-Hyde said his vision was to build on the goodwill the company was already enjoying in the market with the value addition of excellent service delivery and effective relationship management.
“We need to build a tight and structured system to attain results. To be able to do this, we need to look within and re-examine the way we conduct our business. We intend removing a lot of waste from the system and to ensure that the new system works effectively”, he said.
In line with that, he said the company had invested over GH¢1.6 million in an Information Technology (IT) infrastructure with the aim of enhancing service delivery and making business with the bank a delight.
Positive outlook
The future outlook of uniCredit, he said, was positive pointing out that “we are here because of the customers. They need us and we need them. We will step up more collaboration and partnership. We will partner them for growth because if they are growing, then it means as an institution, we are also growing”.
Mr Sakyi-Hyde called for a symbiotic relationship with customers that would ensure excellence in all areas of business including foreign trade, business expansion, and increasing stock based on demand.
His profile
Mr Sakyi-Hyde is a banker by profession and has over 17 years’ experience in Financial Services Management, Rural Banking, Credit Risk Management, Domestic Operations, Business Development, Retail and SME Banking, Internal Audit, Treasury Management, Trade Finance and Project Management.
He holds an Executive MBA in International Business and until his appointment was the Head of Branch Networks at UniBank.
Mr Sakyi-Hyde has also worked with the Ga Rural Bank Limited and Amalbank (now Bank of Africa) where he worked in various managerial positions.
He is a pastor at the Harvest Chapel International Ministries in Accra and an adjunct lecturer in one of Ghana’s leading universities. He is married with three children.
