Addressing the press in Accra on Thursday, Mr Hyde said it would ensure the growth and sustainability of the SMEs.

“We believe that SMEs play a vital role in boosting economic growth, so we remain committed to partnering them for growth,” he noted.

Touching on key performance indicators for 2015, Mr Sakyi-Hyde said uniCredit had witnessed a tremendous improvement in all areas, adding that the company had extended its service experience to numerous potential customers during the year under review by opening six additional branches.

This, he said, increased the number of branches of the institution nationwide to 17, including its first branch at Kasoa in the Central Region.

He also mentioned that as a principal player in the savings and loans industry, it had made significant investments in its information technology infrastructure to deliver more value and convenience for its growing clientele.

“We will continue to build on these key achievements to ensure that our institution becomes the first choice for all SMEs when it comes to their banking needs,” he assured.

He said it had also completed the test phase of its e-banking suites and would deploy them in the coming weeks as part of its quest to provide top-notch banking services to its current and prospective customers.

The General Manger of uniCredit’s Mr P. V. Yeboah-Asiamah, added the company would still be reaching out to its customers and the general public via branch expansion, adding that uniCredit was expected to open eight additional branches by the end of the year.
