Divine Mercy Catholic Church celebrates feast of Christ the king
Also called Solemnity of our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe, it is celebrated in the Roman Catholic Church, the world over, in honour of Jesus Christ as Lord over all creation.
It is observed on the final Sunday of the Catholic Liturgical Calendar, usually the Sunday that falls within 20–26 November.

Divine Mercy Catholic Church marked the day as ‘Traditional Sunday’ during which parishioners, dressed in rich traditional regalia (Northern, Akan, Ga, Ewe tribes, among others) took turns to bring their praises to Jesus, the King of kings, enthroned in the Blessed Sacrament, and carried in a palanquin in a procession.
Prayers were said for Ghana.
The Rector of the Church, Rev. Fr. Francis Destiny Amenuvor, explained the celebration was symbolic of the Biblical description that every tribe, nation and tongue will come giving glory to the King of kings.
“It also depicts our union in Christ, irrespective of race, gender or ethnicity,” he added.
