Chris set to release new single Otega

Winner of Vodafone Icons 2014, Chris, is ushering his music career with a new  gospel single titled Otega. He is set to release his maiden commercial single on Saturday on the stage of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

The song which in Yoruba means “worthy to be praised”, boasts of a unique melody, the result of Chris collaborating with award-winning gospel sensation, Sonnie Badu, and passionate Christian producer, Osei, in Ghana. 

While the chorus echoes modern gospel music’s tendency to border on the overly repetitive, the quality of Chris’ vocals and the shift his producer put in shine right through.

Chris has recently spent time travelling through China where he performed on CCTV Live and spent time exploring  diverse music cultures in an effort to enrich and globalise his music. He travelled through different cities, meeting with musicians, producers, and other vocalists to exchange ideas.

“I have spent the past few weeks discovering myself and experimenting with music. I am a gospel artiste and want to make sure my songs touch the hearts of people truthfully in worship,” Chris says.
