Noella releases Video of Rock My Body
It seems there ain’t no stopping for Afro pop singer, Noella Wiyaala this year.
She was made a brand ambassador for Pepsi Cola in West Africa and has received three nominations at this year’s BASS Awards.
And Noella who describes herself as “Young Lioness of Africa” is still roaring. She is out with the video of her song, Rock My Body.
Directed by Mr Chaplain who was also the official director for the Vodafone Icons Mixed Bag in 2012, Noella brings out her acting side in Rock My Body.
The video was set in some popular markets in Accra including the Ashaiman market where Noella is seen in the video searching for the “man who is bold enough to rock her body”.
Noella wasn’t the only woman searching for a man as the video also shows three other ladies who were hunting for their men.
Noella eventually finds her ideal man in a midget who she leaves the market place with on a motor cycle to the amazement of all present.
According to Noella who is under the management of Djimba World Records, she told Showbiz last Friday, the video will put to rest the assertion that Rock My Body is profane. “I won’t deny that the song is a little ‘raunchy’ but it is focused more on the independent woman who has the power to choose the man she is mos comfortable with.
“In our part of the world, it is only the men who have the responsibility to choose the women they want to be with.
“ In some cases, the women are forced to marry men against their wish but that shouldn’t be the case. Women must be empowered to choose their men and that is what this video portrays. There is nothing sexually explicit about it,” she stated.
Produced by Genius Selection, Rock My Body which has earned her three nominations at the yet to be held Bass Awards featured dancehall artiste, Jupiter.
The young female artiste’s climb to fame started in 2010 when she emerged the second runner-up at the Stars of the Future music reality show and has since not looked back.
Some of her songs are Make Me Dance, You Got the Power and Go Go Black Stars which she released for the Black Stars prior to the World Cup competition.
She is currently working on the release of a new song, Africa.
