Ruth Adjei takes the good path

Before Gospel artiste, Ruth Adjei launched her first album, Liquid Prayers in 2014, the Telecom Engineer Officer had had the privilege of backing a number of artistes such as Joe Mettle, Hannah Marfo, Gifty Osei, Francis Adjei, Ceccy Twum and SP Kofi Sarpong.

She, however, realised that she could have a bigger platform for imparting the word of God and that encouraged her to release her debut album. However, a busy schedule filled with schooling and studies became a major hindrance in pursuing her musical ambitions until she released her Mercy Seat album last year.

Ruth told Graphic Showbiz recently that the call to reach out to the masses, especially the youth, who are drifting from the right path, had boosted her confidence to intensify her work as an ambassador for Christ.

As such, she has released three songs namely Woye Kronkron, You Are Holy, Ma Menye Dewo and the songs basically explore the theme of God’s holiness and how His followers must strive to emulate His awesome nature.

“God gave me these songs during my personal devotion as I pondered over His holiness. My attention was drawn to a portion of scripture in Revelation 4:3 which explained how He who was sitting on the throne was like a jasper stone and a sardius in appearance; and there was a rainbow around the throne, like an emerald in appearance.

“I brooded over this for a very long time and wondered how as God’s follower, I haven’t appreciated His Holy nature and how others in my shoes could also see Him in that light and walk the Holy path,” she said.

A native of Apam in the Central Region, Ruth Adjei studied at the Professional Institute of Journalism and University College of Management Studies. She has worked with Stan Trust Financial Services in Accra and Danimar Engineering Limited.

Ruth, however, said she has always been affected by the careless lifestyles of the youth and mentioned that Gospel acts should work harder to bring the lost into God’s fold.

“We are making progress but we also know that there is more work to be done not to lose many souls,” she added.
