Sallahfest was a blast

Nima and its environs were turned into carnival grounds last Saturday when this year’s edition of the Sallahfest concert which forms part of activities to mark Eid-ul-Fitr came off.

The festivities kicked off after 8pm with performances from a number of underground artistes from Nima and its surroundings. They performed renditions of some popular songs as well as their own creations, which whet the apetite of the audience for the well-known artistes.

Ghanaian hiplife trio, VVIP, a group which takes its roots from Nima were the first of the main acts to perform. The crowd warmed up well to their performance and sang along to most of their songs.

VVIP introduced a surprise guest, Friction, a founding member of the group to the crowd. He led the crowd to sing along to songs from back in the days when the group was known as VIP.

Reggie Rockstone, the newest member of the group also led the crowd through some of their new songs such as Skolom, Hustle, Self
