Wutah Afriyie celebrates love with new single 'The One'

HIGHLIFE artiste, Afriyie Wutah of Wutah fame is still basking in the love glow after tying the knot with his pretty wife Naa Ayorkor a few weeks ago and has released a new single The One, featuring former Mentor contestant Dela.

Wutah Afriyie, who has split from his music partner Wutah Kobby, has emerged from a period of hiatus with new verve and has promised a new era of musical bliss as a solo artiste.

The One, produced by datbeatgod, starts with vintage Highlife instrumentation which heralds the smooth voice and energy of Afriyie.

Dela then adds extra spice with her engaging vibes and there is no doubt that this is a song not only for lovers but also for the dance floor.

“This is one of my most cherished songs; it marks the beginning of a new era both in my professional and social life; a song, I believe will also lift many up,” he said in an interview.

Afriyie explained that The One was a song that had been on the burner for a while with the first version produced four years ago.

“I gave a few fans a hint of this new song sometime back on my YouTube channel and the response was encouraging; people kept asking when the real deal was going to be out. Finally, it is out and what an opportune time to celebrate my Queen,” he explained.

He described the song as one for love seasons and for people worth celebrating adding that it marks the beginning of a musical renaissance for him.

“During my time off the scene, I did a lot of reflection and I have also been working hard producing new songs so my fans should be expecting more delightful songs. It is a new era of musical bliss; expect nothing but exciting rhythms; nothing but the best,” he stated.

Afriyie described his wife as a very supportive woman who had been through thick and thin with him. “I am happy I got her; this song is for all who have found that person and want to show love and appreciation,” he stated.

Wutah emerged strongly as a musical group 15 years ago with hits songs such as Goosie Ganda, Kotosa, Big Dreams, Change Your Style and others, but the group suffered a setback when the duo split in 2010.

In 2017, the group reunited and made instant headlines with their hit song, Bronya, but the new breeze of unity fizzled when the group split again in 2019.

“The past belongs to the past; we have both moved on. No ill feelings; no bitterness but at the right time, the story will be told. Now, I just want to do quality music and turn dancing feet on,” he stated when pressed on issues surrounding Wutah's split.
