4x4 advises with Roses
In July this year, they released, Baby Dance, which featured Nigerian artiste, Davido, and to keep up the tempo, 4X4 is back with yet another single, Roses.
Roses, released online last Monday and recorded by Dansoman based Sound Producer/Engineer, Genius Selections, is a fascinating party piece.
Kicking off with the voice of Coded in the intro, he sings about how he is fascinated by a lady’s looks and would want her to be his “Roses”.
Unlike many of their songs where Fresh Prince does the singing, Roses rather takes a different twist. Coded who is known mostly for his raga vibes, sings the chorus.
Together with Captain Planet’s raps, the song generally advises young men to spend quality time with their ladies and have the “passion of spending money and time on them in order not to lose them to their rivals”.
The video of Roses was shot by Phamous Films.
In a telephone chat with Showbiz on Monday, Captain Planet, who spoke on behalf of the group, said as young men with great women for partners, Roses is a piece to tell others to “ respect their partners, treat them right and make them feel special”.
“4X4 is an advocate of love and we always preach about God’s greatest commandment on earth, which is love. Our vision is to expand our commercial value and market globally and we are happy with the feedback we got from Baby Dance. We are hopeful Roses will score high points too,” he said.
Currently, 4x4 is signed on to Don Jeff Records. This year, they have already graced the stages of the Hennessy Artistry Concert and the recently held Tigo Unplugged concert. And for Captain Planet, their fans should brace themselves up for more of their performances during the Christmas season.
4X4 comprises Sylvanus Dodji Jeoffrey (Captain Planet), Edem Avornyo (Coded) and Prince Tamakloe (Fresh Prince). They released their sixth album, 4 Word, last year when they celebrated their tenth anniversary. The album had songs such as Anadwo Yede and Mokoni.
The trio has won several awards including Best Group and Album of the Year at the 2011 and 2012 Ghana Music Awards respectively.
Some of the hits from their camp include Sikilitele, Contestant Number 1, Hot Girls. Com and Waist and Power.
