Be credible - CEO of MOGA Awards tasks organisers of music awards
The CEO of Modern Gospel Music Awards (MOGA), Nana Amo Baffour is calling on organisers of music award schemes to show lots of credibility by awarding deserving artistes.
According to the MOGA Awards boss, many awards ceremonies have become an avenue for organisers to make money with little or no consideration to honour distinguished musicians in a category.
"There are so many award ceremonies but most of them are just cash cows for the organisers.
" They just find ways to make money from the toils of people. Hence, it mostly turn out to be the biggest bidder winning the prize and not those who deserve it.
"This is ruining the reputation of awards ceremonies so it's a passionate appeal to my colleagues to right their wrongs and save the image of awards ceremonies by celebrating deserving people," the MOGA Awards boss said.
He pointed out that awards schemes are meant to honour and celebrate hard work and those who deserve it should not be denied what is due them," he stated.

Nana Amo also encouraged award organisers to provide the platform for young artistes to be recognized through their events.
He believes that there are many up-and-coming artistes doing very well and awarding them will boost their confidence.
" It appears most award schemes in Ghana are designed to celebrate and honour only established and popular artistes but that should not be the case.
"There are others who are doing very well and also need the spotlight. They should not be neglected but encouraged. That is not all, our older artistes should also be appreciated while alive and not honoured posthumously," he stated.
