Black Sherif beats Sarkodie, Stonebwoy to become Boomplay's most streamed GH artiste

Reigning Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) Artiste of the Year Black Sherif has emerged as the most streamed artiste on Boomplay, surpassing seasoned luminaries Sarkodie and Stonebwoy.

Boomplay, one of Africa's leading music streaming platforms, recently released its recap of 2023 streams, putting the Kwaku the Traveller hitmaker in the lead as Ghana's most streamed artiste.

With an impressive following of 322,000 on the platform, Black Sherif outshone his closest competitors and industry veterans, Sarkodie and Stonebwoy, amassing a staggering total of 424.3 million streams on Boomplay. 

Sarkodie, often regarded as one of Ghana's musical icons, claimed the second spot as the platform's second most streamed artist with a total of 179.7 million streams.

Meanwhile, Reggae/ Dancehall act and another heavyweight in the industry, Stonebwoy, another  secured the third position with 122.9 million streams on Boomplay.

Black Sherif's dominance extended beyond being the most streamed artist, as he also seized the spotlight in various other categories. His album, "The Villain I Never Was," emerged as the most streamed album on Boomplay and similarly earned the spot for the Most Streamed song for the year under review.
