DJ Sly King, aka "The Unstoppable," has been crowned DJ of the Year at the 2025 Guinness Ghana DJ Awards.
The event took place on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at the Palms Convention Center, in Accra where DJ Sly King beat a tough competition from fellow DJs, including DJ Lord OTB, AD DJ, DJ Millzy, TMSKDJ, DJ Vyrusky, and DJ Loft.
With eight nominations, DJ Sly King was the topmost contender in the year under review. He delivered over 50 electrifying performances at major events across Ghana and beyond, cementing his reputation as one of Africa's most sought-after DJs.
His notable performances include the DJ Sly King Unstoppable Concert, Unstoppable Rave at KTU, Hey Ibiza Festival, and Detty Splash, among others.
The new king expressed his gratitude, saying he had been putting in a lot of work in the year under review and was hopeful of ending DJ Lord OTB's two-year reign as DJ of the Year.
“Winning this award reflects my hard work and dedication. I'm grateful to have ended DJ Lord OTB's two-year reign as DJ of the Year.
“It’s my time and I’m honoured to receive this recognition and I'm looking forward to make Ghana proud,” he said.
As part of his prize, DJ Sly King received a brand-new Pioneer DJ DDJ-Rev7 Scratch Style 2 Controller.
Industry colleagues and fans praised DJ Sly King's victory, citing his technical mastery and growing influence on the music scene.
The 2025 Guinness Ghana DJ Awards celebrated excellence and evolution within the disc jockeying fraternity in Ghana and beyond, featuring high-energy performances from Medikal, Fameye, Keche, and Lali x Lola.
Merqury Quaye, known as the “father of all DJs,” delivered a mindblowing performance that electrified the auditorium.
DJ Sonaty and the event’s resident DJ, DJ Pho, also impressed with standout performances that sparked cheers from the crowd.
