Christmas is here and Latif Abubakar and his Globe Productions outfit could not have chosen a better christmas play to adapt than Marc Cammolleti’s “Don’t Dress for Chritsmas” to be performed at the National Theatre on Tuesday, December 23.

The date comes as a package that comprises a hilarious play featuring some of Ghana’s finest actors Naa Ashorkor and Ecow Smith, as well as cocktail experience before take-off.

This is Globe Productions’ seventh foray into the field of stage drama. The company was responsible for Thank God for Idiots, Romantic Nonsense, You May Kiss the Corpse, Gallery of Comedies and The Second Coming of Nkrumah.

Don’t Dress for Christmas is essentially a story about a cheating husband, a cheating wife, a best friend, a mistress, and a waitress, who becomes a part of the story by backing up every lie that is told for a little money.

So while Sedem prepares to go out of town to visit her mother, her husband Akoto invites his mistress, and Boateng his best friend, unknowingly his wife’s secret lover, over for a good time. Sedem discovers  that Boateng was coming over and cancels her trip thus setting up a perfect scenario for a clash.

Don’t Dress for Christmas is sponsored by Carnival Strawberry and supported by Coca Cola, Lifestyle Gallery, the National Theatre, Graphic Showbiz, Citi fm and TV3, XYZ, Atlantis Radio, Radio Gold, Bloggers Ghana and Starr FM.
