Epixode ‘milks’ Atia Donko with 10 versions
Having 10 songs on an album is no big deal, it happens all the time.
But one’s interest is pricked when 10 different versions of the same song comprise the whole album.
And that is what Reggae/Dancehall act Epixode has done with his latest collection of work, Atia Donko released last month.

The 10 versions of Atia Donko on the album are rendered in Reggae, Zouk, Highlife, Afrobeats, Afro-Pop, Folk, Ragga, Jazz, Hip-Hop and R&B.
And he didn’t come out with this innovation alone, he employed the services of some of Ghana’s best musicians including Kwabena Kwabena, Mr Drew, Abiana, Dela Botri, F.L.O, Lipstick Band and Danish saxophonist Katrine Suwalski.
Atia Donko is a simple song about a man trying to win the heart of a slim girl not knowing the intension of the girl is to just spend his money.

Giving an insight on the selection of artistes for the album, the winner of 2021 VGMA Reggae Artiste of the Year said every one of them was picked for a particular reason.
“I carefully chose the artistes based on the areas they are good in. For instance, when it comes to Highlife, Kwabena Kwabena is one of the best and Mr Drew is also great when it comes to Afrobeats. None of the artistes on the album disappointed me and I have no regrets going in for them”, he said.
Since he gained attention on the music scene more than a decade ago, Epixode has never looked back but keeps doing what he knows best. Some of the songs he has to his credit include Mina Woa, Gyal Dem Suga, Dutty, Gbe Ohe, Odeshie, You Are the One and Too Much
